Cool Places to go #7 Gubong Mountain

Out here in the 'wild wild west' of Daejeon, we are surrounded by beautiful mountains. I would even go so far as to say that each set of Mountains has a number of pagoda's dotted along the peaks, this is to say I have not hiked up any of the mountains so far in Korea and not come across at least 3 pagodas along the way.

My mom catching a rest at one of the pagoda's...

Gubong Mountain is the range of Mountains just behind FarmBoy's house, they are also joined to the Mountains in my area, but by about a 5 hour trek...Needless to say, we haven't ventured that far, *yet*.
You can catch a number of buses to the surrounding area (no# 211, 216, 211, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 114, 115 ) and then its about a 10 minute walk to the actual base, where there are some exercise machines ready for you to get warmed up on, and of course a watering hole :) *If you get a bit lost just ask some one "GumdongSan audi aeeyo??"*

One of the many sets of stairs to one of the peaks!
Half way there!
It took us about 2 1/2 hours to reach one of the highest peaks, and the view was stunning. Unfortunately it was slightly foggy up there, so I can only imagine what it would look like on a clear day.

This is the view of FarmBoy's area from the very top~if you can see through all the haziness :)
