Windsor, Wedding & Airoplanes...

*This is my brother, David...isn't he handsome!)

So, 24 hours by plane, 6 hours by bus, 1 hour by taxi and I'm back in the land of Kimchie!

What a whirl~wind weekend it's been!

Woke up at about 5, last friday morning, caught my Taxi at 6 (after some serious hooting on his part) raced to the bus station with my flimsy home printed ticket...found the conductor/janitor/sleepy looking old man waving a whistle and flag and showed him my ticket...after some bowing, nodding and "gamshamnidaing" (thankyou in Korean) I was happily seated aboard my Airport limousine shuttle!

3 Hours later I arrived at Incheon International Airport, excited to check in and have a squizz around the marvelous shopping halls :) Boarded my plane, and so my Journey to London began.

I watched 5 movies, read some magazines, stared out the plane, stared at the other passengers, slept a little, listened to some music, wrote my speech on paper, typed my speech out on my ipod, ate some very interesting food and Finally! 12 hours later, touched down at LHR at about 3am Korean Time, 5pm local time!

Met my Dad at the airport and caught up with all the latest family happenings (ya ok, in other words gossip) there wasn't any :(

Got to the Hotel and finally got to see my bro, and my oh my!!! Hes huge! Him and his gf are official now, hehe, its about darn time Dave~so happy for u man! Was really great seeing all the family again, and we all realised its the first time all of us cousins have been in the same place, since we were all born! After an absoltely amazing breakfast of hashbrowns, fried eggs, bacon (yes my dads side of the family may be Jewish, but im not so more bacon for me, yay! ) coffee, chocolate croissants, fruit, yogurt, mushrooms..the list goes on...im listing all of theese yummy things so I can look back when I'm eating my rice and vegetable soup for breakfast in the coming weeks!) A fabulous day of shopping at the Oracle in Reading, and then an afternoon spent in the jacuzzi and hot tub with some new cousins!

Then Sunday, a frantic breakfast before having our hair styled, curled, poofed, cut, brushed, u name it, we did it..and a new fringe for me :) Then frantically off to get changed and mentally prepare myself for being MC and of course, my speech.

But everything went so well, Dave game the most impressive speech ive ever heard, and I didnt mess up too badly with the MC'ing, danced the night away with family and friends~was superb!

Then last quick visit to the shops on Monday morning, last bit of retail therapy, after saying goodbye to everyone at Breakfast, and then a frantic packing and re-packing of suitcses...and Dave telling me that I was most definately over weight (AGAIN!! I have got to stop doing this!) Anyways, got away with it his time, as well as the 9 packets of biltong packed into my checked in luggage, another 12 hours in the air, 3 by bus and rther strange Taxi experience and I was back at my front door, exhausted but happy...

Happy that was, until saw my gas bill for last month, a whopping W153 300, which roughly translates to R1000!!!!! Im dumbfounded, and extremely upset! Turns out im living in a new apartment which hasnt yet been fitted with Government Gas lines so until May it will be ridiculous! But I mean I live in a one bedroom apartment, one bedroom and one bathroom, how can it possibly be R1000, im so energy conscious too!

OK, before I get even more upset about that, I have finished class for the day, so am fiddling on facebook and the like, and so excited to finally see my boyfriend! FarmBoy~I missed u so much and I can't wait to see u!!!!

This is happy…

Yesterday was Saturday and I got to lie in bed till about 11am and then got up and went on an adventure around the city, it was great and full of lots of interesting sights and the spring weather made it a really great day. I am thoroughly enjoying the coffee shops and quiet places all throughout this place and its creates a very comfy atmosphere.

On the flip side of comfy I got to find the biggest climbing wall I have seen is a long time and I spent alot of time on it yesterday. Its within view of some awesome mountains and its all outdoors so it feels great spending time there.

I have had some time on my hands this weekend, as my precious angel girl has been away in the UK at her dads wedding. So I have put this little thing together as an experiment and also try something different on the blog. I hope you like it, and I hope I can make a few more.

Weddings and Volcanoes...

So this weekend my Dad is getting married...well at least he is scheduled to get married, but due to the erruptions of Eyjafjallajokull volcano in central Iceland...well lets just say we are waiting to find out if he and Shelley will be flying this evening. If their flight is A..Ok then cool beans, everything is set, but if they cant get to London, then...the wedding will have to be postponed! So I am waiting with baited breath!

On to other news...I have just judged an English Speaking contest. Well i say judged but my job was to sit in a poky little room with a piece of paper and ask each student (after they had given their speech to the whole school) a few questions. So I got to ask about 30 students

What is your favourite sport/food/book? and What is your dream.

Needless to say I had about 7 teachers, 12 scientists, 7 designers and 3 doctors. Oh but I did have one inventor :)
The kiddies were incredibly earnest, and when asked "How are you today?" I got a few..."Its Sunday" and "it is so~so". CUTE!
But all in all I had to give each student a mark out of 40, after hearing them speak for about 2 seconds, so not the easiest of jobs, but it sure beats having to teach classes. So now I am hanging around on Facebook, trying to look busy :)
So more pic's, some cherry blossoms and the like...

Reed slops :)

FarmBoy staying true to his nature bought some wonderful shoes at the base of the Gyeoreong Mountain! And yes he wore them out and about town, and they actually looked awesome! Here are a few pics from the trip (and of course the shoes!)

Hiking and Graduating...

These are some pics from our wonderful weekend! Went on a crazy beautiful hike and wandered around Downtown.

Oh as well as the fabulous "graduation ceremony" our friends put on for myself and Jono (both of us missed our graduation cermony last weekend and needed cheering up! And we were indeed cheered up!).

And a few more!

Fun at the Zoo…

So last night i got a call from Jeoung Hee, politely informing me that as the 5th and 6th grade students are going away on a trip, all my classes for the rest of the week would be cancelled; "Is this ok" she asked, I could barely contain my relief at the thought of having a 3 day extra weekend! But of course, she then added that this doesnt mean that we dont have to come in to school, it merely means we don't teach.

Trying to hide my diassapointment I asked her what we would get up to for 8 hours. "Loxy, would you like to accompany the 2nd graders on their picninc to the Zoo tomorrow?". YES!!!! School trip!

So I have just returned from a marvelous trip to the Daejeon Zoo with my little kiddies. Incredibly cute bunch of students, all rearing to go, biting at the bit to hold my hand or touch my arm...I love my job!

Here are a few pics of the days happenings...from notebook eating goats to tigers in the African Safrai corner...to pretty flowers and lots of "Loxy Teacher...what dis..what dat?" I returned home early to a lovely cup of tea and an afternoon nap...bliss

FarmBoy makes his entrance…

Ok well, CityGirl has pretty much said it all and so Im gonna try keep it simple and short. I have been in Korea for almost two months now and these are some of the things that I have been doing with my awesome co-pilot Citygirl. Ill start with the fresh stuff and work backwards as its gets a little fuzzy past the one month point.

I recently signed up for a local gym and Im really happy about this. Its a cool gym and the Koreans seem to buy every piece of Verimark Gym equipment out there. Any way Roxls and I went and worked out last night and it was great. On the weekend we all went on a massive hike in the mountains, it was really great to get out, breathe fresh air, see the blossoming trees, get some exercise and hear the birds whistiling in the trees (addmittedly intermingled with the high-pitched distress call of the lesser tanned South African Chick). But overall I was pretty darn impressed with everyones stamina. We had a mock graduation serimony for Roxy and Johno and this involved a pizza box grad cap, two black curtains for robes, a hybridized version of a proud ulilating mother and a supportive girlfriend(freakish I tell you) and one times awkward impression of Julius Malema as the honoured guest speaker.

You see now my memory starts to blur.... But over all in Korea I have: eaten a plate of chicken feet, eaten meat that I cant identify, discovered the awesome and cheap spa and sauna culture here and had an amazing time with my girlfriend walking the streets looking for restuarants with photos of food for us to choose from (we cant read the menus). All in all this place is great. The kids are really awesome and I even appreciate the ones that make me sign the lids of their lunch boxes and the mentally slower kids who try and see how many of my arm hairs they can bite out at once.

I think thats all for now, and plus the vice principle has come in for some headnodding small talk, oh joy.
